Bee Hotels

We build and install bee houses in our communities and are working on innovative designs which we think will be more effective and easier to deploy. Bee hotels, also called bee houses or nesting boxes, are small structures in which female bees can lay eggs and leave small amounts of pollen provisions for their larvae and pupae to use until they emerge the following spring or summer. They can provide a safe environment for bees' young and play a role in research and protecting population sizes. The material types, tube sizes, hotel placement, and several other factors can have significant impact on the success of bee hotels.

Pollinator Workshops

We're working to increase awareness about the importance of solitary bees, as well as the threats which their populations face. I have lead pollinator awareness and bee house building programs at my high school and will be doing more this year, especially for younger students. Feel free to contact us for teaching materials.
